The workers prepare the second turbine tower section for lifting. This is one of three total sections that reach a total of 70 meters.
Third Tower Section
As the third tower second is raised towards the turbine, three workers must stand out and guide the massive tower into place.
Nacelle Lift
After the three turbine tower sections were installed, the nacelle is lifted, attached and tightened. The nacelle rotates 360 degrees.
Generator/Hub Attachment
The generator is being prepared to attach the blade assembly. You can see a Goldwind worker looking out over the site as he waits for the crane to lift the turbine blades.
70 Meter Tower
Here the tower is fully assembled, including the nacelle, and is being prepped for the generator.
Blade Assembly
Here you can see the first blade of three being attached to the hub. Each blade is 40 meters in length, with a hub that is 2 meters across, giving a 42 meter radius.
Second Rotor Assembly
The second rotor is balanced by the massive crane and attached to the hub.
Blade Assembly Lift
The three blades and hub, known as the blade assembly, are beginning to lift up to the nacelle.
Harness Removal
The installation mounting harness is being removed while the crane holds the blade assemlby in place 40 meters above.
Blade Assembly Lift 3
The baldes can be seen from near the Shops at 5 as the blade assembly is lifted to 70 meters, or 230 feet, in the air.
Aligning the Hub
The crane along with the help of the workers must align the giant assembly perfectly with the fittings inside the nacelle.
Blade Assembly Lift 2
This is another angle where you can see the crane beginning to align the hub and rotors to the nacelle.
