Transportation and Foundation Construction
Backfilling
Here you can see the foundation being backfilled over with dirt and compacted.
Cement Foundation
The foundation is being filled with cement and laced with steel cables where the turbine will eventually be bolted into.
Finished Foundation
The foundation is dry and ready for the mounting of electrical components that will control the turbine and divert the electricity off the property.
Power Lines
The three phase power is connected to the grid through large cables underground, as you can see here.
Tower Transport
The tower was transported by barge to exit 5 in Plymouht, where it was unloaded and delivered to the site in three sections.
First Tower Section The first tower section is being fitted over the electrical components at the base.
